You made a mistake and need to revert an action or a change in your Notion workspace? No problem!
Below you can find tutorials showing you how to undo something in Notion on any device and even how to roll back and restore entire pages.
How to Undo on Windows & Mac
The easiest way to undo an action in Notion on your computer or laptop is using a simple keyboard shortcut:
Undo Shortcut on Windows:
Control + Z
or
Alt + Backspace ←
Undo Shortcut on Mac:
Command ⌘ + Z
or
Alt + Delete
These work for both the browser version and the Notion desktop apps.
If this does not work for some reason, or if you need a way to undo without using a keyboard, then you can also undo any action manually via the menu.
Click on ••• in the upper right corner of the page, then click on ↰ Undo in the popup menu.

Each of these methods reverts the last action you took on the current page. This works even if you worked on another page in the meantime.
You can undo repeatedly to jump back multiple steps, but there is a limit as to how far back you can go.
How to Undo on iOS & Android
In the Notion mobile app, tap on ••• in the upper right corner, then tap on ↰ Undo in the following menu page.
If you have the “Shake to Undo” setting enabled on your iPhone or iPad, then you can also simply shake your device and press Undo in the menu that pops up.

How to Redo Actions & Changes
If you have undone something by accident, then you can use the following shortcut to quickly redo it:
Redo Shortcut on Windows:
Control + Y
or
Control + Shift ↑ + Z
Redo Shortcut on Mac:
Command ⌘ + Y
or
Command ⌘ + Shift ↑ + Z
To redo an action in the Notion mobile app, tap on ••• in the upper right corner, then tap on ↱ Redo in the following menu page.
Restore Content with the Page History
If the undo function is not enough and you need to roll back the content of a page in a more significant manner, then you can use Notion’s page history feature.
Click on ••• in the upper-right corner of the page, then click on ⥀ Page history.
In the popup menu you can now see all the available snapshots of the page, as well as who edited the page and when the snapshot was taken.
To restore a page history snapshot, simply click on the snapshot timestamp and then click the Restore version button.
How far back you can go with this feature depends on your Notion subscription plan:
- Free Plan: 7 Days
- Plus Plan: 30 Days
- Business Plan: 90 Days
- Enterprise Plan: Indefinitely
Restore Deleted Pages from the Trash
If you need to undo the deletion of an entire Notion page, then the trash feature is here to help.
Simple click on 🗑️ Trash in the sidebar navigation menu and use the search bar to find the deleted page.
You can either directly restore the page back to its previous location by clicking the ↰ icon, or open the page first to inspect it and then click the Restore page button at the top.
