The Problem with Notion Widgets
You probably already know that the Notion mobile app for iOS lets you add page widgets to your iPhone or iPad home screen for quick access to specific pages in your workspace.
While this works well, it comes with one major drawback — the widget size.
The smallest page widget still takes up the space of four regular app icons. This not only looks odd, but it’s also a big waste of valuable home screen space—especially if you’re going for a clean, minimal look.

Using iOS Shortcuts to Create Notion Page Apps
Luckily, there’s a better way to turn any Notion page into a simple app icon on your home screen.
Just follow the steps below:
Prerequisite: You’ll need to have the Notion mobile app installed on your device for this to work.
- Open the Shortcuts app.
- Create a new shortcut by clicking on the + symbol in the top-right corner.
- Find and select the Notion app from the actions menu.
- Tap and add a new Open page action to your shortcut.
- Tap on Notion Page to find and select the Notion page in your workspace that you want to add your home screen.
- Tap the v arrow at the top to open the shortcut menu and tap on Add to Home Screen.
- Add a title and select an icon and color for your home screen shortcut or select a custom image file to use as app icon.
- Tap on Add to add the shortcut to your home screen.
That’s it! You can now open your chosen Notion page instantly by tapping its app icon on your home screen — just like you would with any other app.
Where to Find & Download Suitable Notion App Icons
Imagine if you could quickly use any Notion icon as the app icon for your shortcuts, giving your home screen the same clean, aesthetic look as your Notion workspace.
Well, I’ve got you covered!
You can grab any Notion icon as a matching app icon using the Notion Icons Gallery tool here on my website.
Just open the tool page on your device, set the format toggle to PNG and the type toggle to App Icons, find the icon you want, and long-press it to download it to your device.
Then, in step #7 above, simply select the downloaded image file to set it as the app icon for your page shortcut.
